Often we see folks on TV or otherwise sit down for an EVP (electronic voice phenomena) session only to ask for a knock response or to move something. While it is “like WHOA!” when something flies across the room, even if it’s caught on camera, there are too many ways to debunk it. (This comes from a discussion I’m having via e-mail with my friend and avid ghost hunter, Greg Murr of Secret City Paranormal).
The truth is spirits only have so much energy to manifest physical sounds, apparitions or movement of objects. If we use it all up on one shift of a trigger object, we might just miss out on valuable communication that can prove who might be haunting and relay some historical facts that can be verified later.
There is value in coming into an investigation prepared with a list of EVP questions that relate to the property and it’s history. If possible, once evidence it obtained, to return with more refined questions and ANSWERS to any queries the ghosts may have. Conversation is two-way, correct?!
I encourage you to weigh in on this one. Also, if you have any really interesting EVP questions you would like to use, jot those down as well. I’m attempting to compile a list of intriguing things to ask an astral.

It’s real easy for a skeptic to “debunk” a noise in the dark. Could be a mouse or even a racoon ( saw one in my videos once ). The voices though….hard to say that’s an animal. Instead of the old “shave and a hair cut….and waiting on the ‘two bits” knock. I like to ask “when’s the last time you had a hair cut? or felt the rain in your face? Got an answer to that once…said “sixty years”. That was much more usefull to me as an investigator than a knock in the dark! I think ghosts are like old men, they tire easily and get bored quickly! LOL Good topic!
I was hoping you’d weigh in! Great EVP questions btw! That’s what I’m talkin’ about.

Everybody seems to ask the spirit or ghost, to go to the green/red light if they will, supposedly to set off an emf/ K 11 meter. Wouldn’t it be better to ask them to come to your voice or the box “if” they can see it. Just what can a ghost/spirit see…colors? can they even see us? It may be like it is for us on this side…the ghost may hear us but not see us. I wonder…..I guess a good question would be ” can you see “me”? What color of shirt do I have on? You know, ….I’ve never ask those questions.
You and I need to write a book…
Another question “I” always ask is ” Is your family there with you/ do you know where they are” ? Everybody has a family and people tend to say, when something happens, oh, that was my grandmother, mother, dad ( family member/best friend ) looking out for me. I think that’s a legit question to ask. My team seems to find a lot of children and they all seem to be looking for someone in their family…mostly momma. Everyone likes to talk about their loved ones….even ghosts!
Another question I always ask is ” do you sleep/rest”? Think ghosts ever sleep or rest, you know, to recharge their batteries…so to say. I had an answer of “no” once. Man, that would make for long days…and nights, if you were alone.
I have scary stories and funny stories and an opinion/theory on everything (almost ). LOL Get your pencil and paper ready…oh ya, keyboard ready! First chapter of our book could be ” If there are any living humans here with us, could you ask us a dumb question”? LOL
I did a comic like that where the ghost asks the questions… LOL.
I asked a ghost where his family was, he said, “They’ve gone to God.” That shut me up!
