Garrison House, Ft. Montgomery New York

Saturday was our joint investigation with team, IndyPara and Poughkeepsie Paranormal Investigators (Pou Para). Once again we were filmed for Big Guy Media for an episode of Paranormal Valley. This one will be aired in the spring. Garrison House is a quaint bed and breakfast run by the most lovely and accommodating of people. Often, as ghost hunters, we are shuffled along, ignored, or treated as kooks… basically, disrespected. Holly and Melissa of Garrison understands we are exploring something greater. This is not a thrill seeking venture, but a process of discovery and identification of the presence of spirits, i.e. people, who are still attached to the physical realm for reasons of their own. Garrison House was pleased to be a part of the Paranormal Valley series. There is a tremendous historical significance to the place. Built in the mid-1700’s, Garrison occupants played strategic parts in the revolutionary war. Issac Garrison fought for the colonies and was captured by the British. Another war hero, Molly Corbin stayed here. She was the first woman to be decorated as a Captain, because she stepped in to load the cannons in battle after her husband was killed. She was gravely injured and spent the rest of her days needing care. She stayed at the Garrison during this recuperation. She ultimately lost her battle and was laid to rest with honor.

The ghost stories range from moving rocking chairs, covers being taken off beds, to full bodied apparitions. Some of us experienced psychic reactions to a specific room. We heard noises, voices. The EMF meters and K2 were quite active at different times of the night. I’ve only started to go through my evidence and I’ve got a few interesting EVPs. Ironically, I left my recorder on the dining table during the tour; something I NEVER do. I’m glad I did, for that is where I seemed to have picked up the most so far. I still have the meat of the footage to go through, so stay tuned!

Nathan Schoonover, the borg version, trying out the camera googles invented by Felix Oliveri of BGM. It does wonders for his image.
