This week’s comics come out of our IndyPara investigation with Pou Para – Poughkeepsie Paranormal Investigators. We did this a few weeks ago for a Cable Vision’s Neighborhood Journal program. It will be airing all month. I’m waiting for there to be a website link to post, since, like me, some of you don’t have Cable Vision from the Hudson Valley. I still haven’t seen it. I heard it was good though!
We captured some amazing electronic voice phenomena (EVP) on this trip, as we did the first time. The ghosts here sport a bit of spunk and are able to project audible sounds as well. They affected our equipment, particularly the Walkie talkies.
Historically, I have been searching for the original name of the Tavern it was back in the early 1800s, before the Patchett family owned it. Amazingly, I picked up an EVP in the attic that referred to it as the Goshen Tavern. I’m still searching for a physical connection to this piece of evidence.
We had another productive investigation here. Pou Para turns out to be a fine group to team up with. In fact, we are doing another joint investigation with them for another Paranormal Valley episode.
Remember the last investigation where I took a series of photos a dark mass filling a doorway, then vanishing? Well, our group portrait produced a similar anomaly. It looks like my pal wanted to join in on the fun!

EVPs
Most of these I did not enhance at all. You’ll be amazed how clear they are. Also, one of these chased a woman from the room at the last conference! She was really freaked out. (Sorry about that, but it was a paranormal lecture!)
This one was while we were setting up. None of us was in the kitchen with my recorder as it was running. It seem to say in a deep voice, “I will scare them. We encountered this voice last time.

This one is a woman’s voice that says “We are DEAAADDD!!”

This one sounds like “Wow.” or “No.” It’s the same voice as the above one.
The ghosts were conversing and decided what we were doing was play… “It’s Games.”

The spirits were interacting with Psychic Sebastian Black who joined us for the beginning our of investigation, but could not stay. We had issues with a bunch of teenagers who wanted to get into the building. The misrepresented themselves, leading us to believe they were here to crash our investigation. It turned out they were scheduled to have a study group session in the building. It took several confusing phone calls to clear it up. I asked them to study in the sun porch so they would not contaminate our audio evidence. We solved the problem. I was just happy we didn’t have to call the police. When we do paranormal investigations, sometimes curiosity seekers show up. Now we do not post the location or time of our events in order to prevent this from happening. You never know who will gate crash and what they are capable of. Fortunately, these people were harmless. I only hope they understand why we had to be resistant. This was not our building, since we were in it by the good graces of management, we are responsible for WHO we allow in it.
The ghosts were not happy about them either. Sebastian asked the question and they quietly said, “They don’t belong here.”

Then one said, “I HATE them.”

We discovered a hot spot of electromagnetic field in the Devitt room off the stairs. Several odd things happened. The first, Charlies Walkie Talkie went off – but ONLY HIS, then we heard a wailing voice. Here it is on audio.

This voice talks over mine. It’s hard to make out.
At one point I felt heat by my hand as it held the audio recorder. We all hear a voice coming from the front of my recorder. This is what I picked up. It sounds like “Out of the Patchett.”

This sounds like Emma Patchett, an older woman. Sounds like “WHO ARE YOU?” or “WHERE ARE YOU?”

This was in the kitchen while we were outside the room. It is very audible… I suspect it’s Emma. This is near where the kids were studying at the time. We were not in the vicinity. So, I’m not sure who she is referring to… perhaps she just wanted everyone to leave. Who can blame her? It was late, crowded… and she didn’t invite us! This is also one of the clearest EVPs I have gotten.

Now this one really freaks people out. Some think it says “Die.” After listening for a while, I thought it said, “Hide.” Another person at the New Milford lecture thought it referred to “Pie.” You be the judge.

The ghosts in the attic were more friendly and didn’t mind Jimmy and I while we checked them out.
This was a telling EVP. It actually mentions the Goshen Tavern. This could be historical evidence via the paranormal. I just want to confirm it somehow. It says “We speak in Goshen Tavern.” It sounds like a woman’s voice, similar to one I picked up in the basement last time. Could it be the bread baker? She would be a servant and live in the attic I suppose… Nice to come up with hypothetical stories!

We were back in the kitchen and were wrapping up the investigation. Ed had said how he was scratched last time he was here. He welcomed this sort of thing, so it was he that was picked on. You can hear “Augghhhhh!,” then Ed complains something grabbed his sweatshirt.
Donna and I were looking over the photos. I am discussing the relationship of the Crabtrees and the Patchetts. Apparently Emma chimed in, saying, “I know them,” or “I own them (referring to the pictures).”

This was the last one of the night. I think Emma was annoyed that we weren’t paying attention to her. She says, “NOTICE ME!” This makes me feel bad that we cannot do a direct one-on-one with her. You know it must be frustrating to be unable to communicate normally. It often leads ghosts to become insane, if they do not realize they are dead.

This was an amazing investigation for EVPs. I’m impressed at how strongly these people come through. I would love to delve further into the historical aspect so we can identify who is there. Emma is clearly one of them. There are two men that are not giving up names so easily. A child or two is present, and another woman.
Well, we’re off to another historical haunt tonight!
