There is a HUGE argument concerning remuneration for paranormal investigations. It’s quite cyclical and keeps revolving to the forefront periodically. Since I just laid the following comment on a blog-site, I felt it relevant to post it here as well. The topic was “Personal Gain.”
“No matter what you do, you gain something from it. Whether you judge that as wrong or not is up to you.
Personally, I can’t conceive of charging anyone to come in and sort out their ghosts. I do it for the benefit of the living and the spirits involved. And with that, I get something out of it every time.”
Since most of us do these services for free, it’s nice to be compensated. That’s why many groups do fundraisers or paranormal events to offset equipment costs, etc. It’s definitely a labor of love.
I’ve been an artist all my life and I understand that concept. If I had to eat via sales of my fine art pieces, I would have eaten once and starved for 2 years before I could eat again. So, don’t quit you day job.
Eat Cookies, Hunt Ghosts for the joy of it!
