Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending a talk by New Yorker Cartoonists, and married couple, Liza Donnelly and Micheal Maslin at Oblong Book Store in Rhinebeck (within view of my living room window). They shared their experiences of being cartoonists for the New Yorker as well as their journey together as a couple. This is in lieu of their new book, Cartoon Marriage.
They were quite informative on their processes as artists. I enjoyed them very much – coming away with more ammo and fodder for my ‘toonin’ career.
I highly recommend their book. It’s a lovely account of their relationship and the humor involved in a dueling cartoonist partnership.
Alas, a nice shout-out to a couple of talented ‘toonists!
Enjoy and Eat Cookies!
